Химгау - культурно-исторический регион на юго-востоке Германии, в Баварии. Согласно некоторым распространённым, не признанных рядом учёных теориям, около 500 года до н. э. над Химгау взорвалась комета (Комета Химгау), что привело к гибели в этом регионе жившего здесь кельтского населения.

Chiemgau is the common name of a geographic area in Upper Bavaria. It refers to the foothills of the Alps between the rivers Inn and Traun, with lake Chiemsee at its center. The political districts that contain the Chiemgau are Rosenheim and Traunstein. Wendelstein is the name of a famous mountain close by but not strictly in the Chiemgau, while Kampenwand is actually the most inviting peak south of Chiemsee. The name Chiemgau and Chiemsee together with the place name Chieming allegedly go back to the Old High German personal name Chiemo (7th/8th century). At the end of the 8th century the name Chiemgau appeared for the first time in documents as Chimigaoe but it stood at that time for a smaller area around the village of Chieming. The ice-age, which took place 15000 years ago, formed the foothills of the Alps and the moranic landscape. For this reason the Chiemgau is a hilly countryside with numerous grasslands, forests and fens; additional there are plenty of lakes of which the biggest one is the Chiemsee. The biggest mountains are almost 2000m high.

Bad Endorf - is a municipality in the district of Rosenheim in Bavaria in Germany. The relatively small town is located about 15 km outside of Rosenheim and is in close proximity to the Chiemsee lake and its larger shore towns, Prien, Gstadt, and Seebruck. The town is home to a large health spa and gym, as well as the German Federal Police winter sports training center which is famous for producing multiple medal winners at the Winter Olympics such as female speed skater Claudia Pechstein. Bad Endorf has one main bus station and several minor ones located around the town which can take travelers to any of the neighboring towns as well as Munich. The town also has a Deutsche Bahn train station on the Munich–Salzburg line with service to minor towns in the area as well as Rosenheim, Munich, and Salzburg, Austria.
